A new report suggests that we might be able to see the new File Manager with 20H1 which is scheduled to arrive next year. It looks like 2019 might be the year Microsoft finally updates the File Explorer with the new Fluent Design. Post that, Microsoft has made small changes but never did a complete overall. Microsoft did a major overhaul to the File Manager with Windows Vista and was improved with Windows 7. However, one big aspect of Windows 10 has been missing the Fluent Design which is the File Manager. We have seen Microsoft adding Fluent Design to most of the Windows 10 OS as well as the first party Microsoft apps. ![]() Microsoft announced Fluent Design System a couple of years back and since then the company has been working hard to incorporate it. ![]()
